Tom Tom Fest Workshop

We regret to inform you that Tom Tom Fest has been rescheduled out of an abundance of caution over concerns about COVID-19.  Tom Tom Fest has been rescheduled to September 21-27, 2020, but we have every intention of having more workshops in the Charlottesville area much sooner than that.  Watch our website and social media for any announcements, and you can subscribe on our website for email notifications.  We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to see you at future events.

Join us for a Women's Self Defense workshop in Charlottesville hosted by martial artists Sally Rose & Joshua Copson! Learn simple, efficient, effective self-defense skills. The workshop is FREE but donations are appreciated. The workshop will be located in the nightclub room, in the back of Rapture restaurant.  Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring water & snacks if need be. Come a few minutes early to sign media & release waivers.   

 Although we are aiming to primarily instruct those in the femme folx community, this is a non-discriminatory safe space where all ages (children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult) and genders are welcome. Our mission is to teach womyn how to defend themselves and walk without fear. We will also have discussions on strategies, fears, hopes, and goals. The workshop focuses on self defense techniques that are simple, efficient and effective for real life situations. The name “Fight Like A Grrrl” is meant to reclaim the fact that girls are strong & women are tough.
