Volunteer

We're always looking for volunteers to support at workshops, table at community events, and distribute flyers. Volunteers join a vibrant cohort of community members who are dedicated to empowering others through intersectional feminist self-defense. Workshop Crew
Our crew arrives at workshops about 1 hour ahead of the workshop start. Workshop Crew volunteers arrive early to help unload cars, set up the check-in table, and prepare for the arrival of workshop attendees. Once folks start arriving Workshop Crew volunteers will check people in and ensure waivers are signed.

Time Commitment: One (1) Sunday afternoon workshop per month
Spirit Captian
We strive to create a workshop space that is energetic, supportive, and inspiring. Spirit Captain volunteers are folks who bring energy, zeal, and affirmations to workshop attendees.
Location: In-Person
Key Responsibilities:

Set up the speaker and queue up some tunes

Greet people as they arrive

Offer nametags
-
Show folks where they can put their things, go to the bathroom, and get water

Attend the workshop and cheer others on as they practice their defense skills

Coordinate the group photo at the end of the workshop
Time Commitment: One (1) Sunday afternoon workshop per month
Talk of the Town
There are many opportunities to engage people at community events through tabling and attendance. Talk of the Town volunteers are well versed in FLAG’s mission and upcoming opportunities to engage with us. Volunteers set up FLAG’s tabling kit with brochures, swag, and merch and chat with event attendees.

Key Responsibilities:

Pick up tabling kit ahead of volunteer shift

Arrive to community event early to set up

Sit at table and offer open and engaging presence to engage event attendees

Share information about FLAG and how to get involved

Pass out swag and sell merch
Time Commitment: One (1) Sunday afternoon workshop per month
